December 27, 2022 , 6:30pm 7:30pm

This special virtual edition Death Cafe is inspired by Athena LaTocha’s The Remains of Winter, a series of site-specific sculptures about memory, mourning, and land currently on view at Green-Wood. Harry Weil, Green-Wood’s director of public programs and the show’s curator will open with a discussion of Athena’s work. To learn more about The Remains of Winter, click here.

The Death Cafe is a simple concept. It was inspired by the centuries-old European salon (or cafe) where people gathered informally to discuss ideas.

Price: Free. Registration required.

Death Cafes apply this concept to the most universal topic of all—death—creating an opportunity for all of us to share our thoughts and feelings on this difficult topic. There is no official agenda and it does not serve as a support group. We do, however, hope Remains of Winter acts as a catalyst for our discussion.

Free. Registration required. Please consider a donation to the Green-Wood Historic Fund so that we can continue to offer free and low-cost programs throughout the year.A Zoom link will be in your confirmation email upon registration.
