battle of brooklyn reenactors

Due to forecasted rain, this event has been moved from Saturday, August 28th to Sunday, August 29th. No registration is required for the rain date.

The Battle of Brooklyn, fought in 1776 on land that is now a part of Green-Wood, was the first battle of the American Revolution to occur after the signing of the Declaration of Independence. To honor those who bravely fought to defend the new republic and learn more about their lives and the world they lived in, join us for a family-friendly afternoon with reenactors, demonstrations, music, storytelling, and hands-on activities. Presented with our friends at Old Stone House, you won’t want to miss this exploration of America’s past.

Space is limited and tickets are required for adult entry. Tickets are not required for children under 12, but minors must be accompanied by an adult. This is an outdoor event, masks are strongly recommended regardless of vaccine status. Please follow directions/instructions from Green-Wood’s staff and ambassadors.

Free, suggested donation $5.

There is no need to register for this event, just arrive at Green-Wood’s Main Entrance and you are welcome to join!

Please consider a donation to Green-Wood so that we can continue to offer free and low cost programs throughout the year!
