Agnes Northrop: Tiffany Stained-Glass Artist

June 30, 2021 , 6:00pm 7:00pm

Louis Comfort Tiffany (1848–1933), who is interred at Green-Wood, remains a giant among American artists. Best known today for the stained-glass lamps produced in his studio, he also was a painter, interior designer, and a pioneer in American glass. But he could not create all that art alone. Indeed, Agnes Northrop (1857–1953), who went to work for Tiffany in the 1880s, designed some of that firm’s most magnificent stained-glass windows. And now, after all these years, she is getting credit for doing so! Join host Green-Wood Historian Jeff Richman and Lindsy Parrott, director and curator at the Neustadt Collection of Tiffany Glass in Queens—an expert on all things Louis Comfort Tiffany—as they discuss Northrop’s extraordinary work.

$9 / $4 for members. A Zoom link will be in your confirmation email upon registration.
