To gear up for Archives Week beginning October 6, join us at Green-Wood for a rare, immersive look into Green-Wood’s vast collections and archives. In its 175 years of operation, Green-Wood has amassed a collection of business records and personal correspondence that is truly unmatched. 
Don’t miss one of Green-Wood’s most popular events! This weekend, we’re opening many of our most famous and elaborate mausoleums for public perusal. This special look into Green-Wood’s distinct architecture includes the grand mausoleum of piano maker Henry Engelhard Steinway, the rather unusual tomb of the ultra-wealthy Stephen Whitney, as well as the Catacombs and other unique locations usually closed to visitors. There are few places more atmospheric than a cemetery at dusk – and Green-Wood is top notch when it comes to beauty and atmosphere. So take a walk on the wild side during this special event that will lead you on a twilight tour of the expansive grounds. 
Join author Elizabeth Mitchell as she tells the fascinating tale of Green-Wood resident Isabella Goodwin, a remarkable woman who broke gender barriers in one of the toughest arenas in the city. 
As a prelude to Halloween, Green-Wood and Brooklyn Historical Society have recruited Trivia Masters Chris Kelley and Stuart Post to host an evening of multimedia pub trivia on a graveyard theme (but light on the grave). 
Travel on our history trolley into Brooklyn’s storied past! When it comes to Brooklyn past and present, there’s no better tag team than Green-Wood and the Brooklyn Historical Society.
