(Sold Out) A Night of Victorian Tragedies
This event is sold out. Make sure you never miss out on tickets again! Green-Wood members get access to tickets weeks before the general public. Join today.
The Victorians knew a thing or two about tragedy. They seemed to almost revel in tales of disaster and heartbreak. And a Victorian-era cemetery, like Green-Wood, has no dearth of these sad, sad stories. Greg Young, co-host of the award-winning NYC history podcast, The Bowery Boys, emcees a night of storytelling, where you and your fellow audience members will vote on the most tragic of Victorian tales.
He will be joined by a team of seasoned storytellers who will try to convince you that their own heartbreaking tale of a Green-Wood permanent resident is worthy of the title. Will it be the victims of a shipwreck just 300 yards from port or the beautiful Charlotte Canda thrown from her horse-drawn carriage on the night of her 17th birthday? A bit Victorian-era trivia is also on deck, along with some great Green-Wood prizes for the most knowledgeable (or lucky). Be sure to bring tissues. Fainting couches not provided.
$20 for members of Green-Wood and BHS / $25 for nonmembers
