The Green-House at Green-Wood

The Green-Wood Cemetery, a National Historic Landmark and beloved Brooklyn institution since 1838, is eagerly awaiting the opening of The Green-House at Green-Wood.

Exciting changes are underway at The Green-Wood Cemetery as we get ready to open the Green-House

As a community space for public programs, a mini-museum, a setting for research and education, and more, the Green-House is a space for you!

To be located right across the street from the Main Entrance at 25th Street and Fifth Avenue, it will combine the restored Victorian-era Weir Greenhouse with a new building and serve as a central hub where you can engage with so much of what Green-Wood has to offer. All will be welcome. Stop by and learn about the Cemetery’s beautiful landscape, unique history, and its core assets of art, history, and nature. Admission is free.

What will The Green-House at Green-Wood feature?

  • A visitor welcome and orientation area
  • A classroom for 3K-12th grade school programs, community meetings, and more
  • A beautifully restored historic greenhouse space
  • Two exhibition galleries to engage with Green-Wood’s history
  • A Center for Research to access and study the Cemetery’s records

The Green-House Rental Inquiries

We’re happy to share that the Green-House will offer rental opportunities for private events beginning in early 2026. Combining the 1,700 sq. ft. restored, landmarked Weir Greenhouse (built in 1895) with new construction that includes a 2,000 sq. ft. gallery space, catering kitchen, and more, the Green-House will be an ideal event venue.

While details are still being finalized, you can sign up for our email list to be among the first to receive booking updates.
