Steps Toward Sustainability at Green-Wood: Free Walking Tour
September 21st , 1:00pm – 2:30pm

Join us for a free walking tour (open to all ages!) that highlights how even one of the city’s oldest and largest green spaces is helping shape a greener future. Explore Green-Wood’s pilot wildflower meadow, where drought-resistant native plants support local wildlife and reduce our reliance on (fossil-fuel burning) lawnmowers. See how non-native trees recently added to Green-Wood’s arboretum, like southern live oaks, are now thriving in the northeast’s current climate.
Price: Free, registration required

(see details below)
Then, discover how a 10,000-year-old glacial pond plays a key role in our innovative stormwater management system—designed to reduce localized flooding and protect our waterways. If you love Green-Wood, you’ll love it even more when you learn how this National Historic Landmark cemetery is working to mitigate the effects of climate change throughout the year.
Free. Registration required. Please consider a $10 donation to the Green-Wood Historic Fund so that we can continue to offer free and low-cost programs throughout the year.
Please note that if only 1 ticket shows as available during the purchase process that is the last ticket available.
