Open Studio: Artist in Residence Adam Tendler

Green-Wood’s artist in residence, pianist and author Adam Tendler, invites the public to explore his studio space and get a sneak peek of in-progress works for Exit Strategy, a site-specific sound installation planned for summer 2024. Learn about Tendler’s process, including readings, recordings, and other materials that will be integrated into the new work.

Each year, one artist in the visual and/or performing arts is rewarded an honorarium and onsite studio space to create a project inspired by the Cemetery. Adam Tendler, Green-Wood’s third artist in residence, is a New York based pianist and author. He is recipient of the Lincoln Center Award for Emerging Artists and the 2022 Yvar Mikhashoff Prize, and a Yamaha Artist. He is an internationally recognized interpreter of living, modern, and classical composers and a pioneer of DIY culture in concert music.

The Open Studio weekend will take place in the Fort Hamilton Gatehouse, located at Fort Hamilton Parkway and Micieli Place, easily accessible on the F and G trains at the Fort Hamilton Station.
