Little Birds, Big World: Meet Green-Wood’s Sparrows

Event Series (See All)

October 24th , 10:15am 12:15pm

Think all sparrows look the same? Guess again! Small, speedy, and often overlooked, sparrows can be some of the trickiest birds to identify, but with a few helpful tips, you’ll soon be telling your Song Sparrows from your White-throated Sparrows.

Whether you’re new to birding or looking to sharpen your identification skills, this engaging two-part course will have you seeing (and hearing!) the sparrows found at Green-Wood and throughout New York City in a whole new way. You’ll learn how to identify different species by their markings, behaviors, habitats, and calls. The course concludes with a guided walk through the Cemetery, where you’ll put your new skills into practice and hear Green-Wood come alive with birdsong.

One ticket secures a spot for both sessions, on October 24 and 25, from 10:15am to 12:15pm.

Price: $30/24 for Members
