Join Barrie Raffel, registered yoga teacher, for an hour of active-but-gentle outdoor yoga that integrates the surroundings of Green-Wood in a subtle, thoughtful way. Green-Wood’s rich history and quiet, picturesque grounds allow a uniquely calming atmosphere to practice connecting our bodies to all our senses.
Enjoy a true respite from the hustle of the city. Bring a mat, water, washcloth or small towel and wear comfortable clothing.
After the session, stay for a short walk to one of Green-Wood’s stunning views for a relaxing breakfast picnic. Tea, coffee and light snacks are generously provided by Baked In Brooklyn.
$20 for members of Green-Wood/$25 for nonmembers
Barrie Raffel has a background in modern dancing and has been teaching yoga to all ages and experience levels since 1997. Barrie’s classes focus on breath and natural alignment for the individual. To learn more visit www.barrieraffelyoga.com.
In case of rain, your yoga session will take place inside Green-Wood’s Historic Chapel. The meeting place – the main arches at 25th Street and 5th Avenue – will remain the same.
