Green-Wood at The Met: American Masters

Join us for a special Green-Wood themed tour of the Metropolitan Museum of Art! Green-Wood Historian Jeff Richman will take you through the American Wing, highlighting extraordinary works of art by those who became permanent residents of the Cemetery, as well as by those artists whose works adorn both sites. As a bonus, two of the Met’s leading curators, Thayer Tolles, the Marica F. Vilcek Curator of The American Wing, and Alice Cooney Frelinghuysen, the Anthony W. and Lulu C. Wang Curator of American Decorative Arts, will speak to the group about the collection.

Thayer will discuss nineteenth-century sculpture and Alice will explore the world of Louis Comfort Tiffany (one of Green-Wood’s most notable residents). This is a rare opportunity to discover Green-Wood’s—and America’s—best art and artists.
