Celebrate City of Forest Day at Green-Wood!
October 3rd , 10:00am – 12:00pm
Join Green-Wood’s horticulturists for a morning dedicated to growing a greener, healthier New York City by helping to plant some trees while connecting with with neighbors who care about the future of our urban forest and with the plants that are the future of it! During the event you will not only learn how to plant a tree properly, what a tree needs to thrive, but also discover why trees matter so much to our lives. We will supply all of the tools and equipment; you just need closed toe shoes and clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty. A bottle of drinking water and sun protection is recommended!
Free to attend, registration required. All ages welcome! This program meets at the Main Entrance at 25th Street and Fifth Avenue.

What to expect: The programming and education will be geared primarily toward an adult audience, but kids are very welcome. Be prepared for at least 30 minutes of walking with some steep hills within the cemetery.
