Birding in Peace: Late-Risers Edition (Members Only)

You may know birding expert Rob Jett from his Birding in Peace tours. You know, the ones that meet at 6am? Always wanted to go on a birding tour at Green-Wood but not much of a morning person? This tour is for you!
The early birder might get the worm, but you can birdwatch at any hour. Join Rob and a small group of fellow members to roam the grounds while hearing and seeing the many feathered friends of Green-Wood.

Winter at Green-Wood brings plenty of opportunities for birdwatching, with fascinating species to spot even in the colder months. For some migratory birds, Brooklyn serves as their warm-weather getaway during winter. Explore the cemetery and keep an eye out for overwintering waterfowl, nuthatches, woodpeckers, sparrows, finches, and other birds that choose to stick around for the season. By March, we’ll see some of the early north-bound birds beginning to trickle back into the area.
Before Purchasing Your Ticket, Please Note:
- Tickets: There is no need to print tickets! Attendees will be checked in by name.
- Where To Go: Check-in takes place at the Gothic Arch near the Main Entrance at Fifth Avenue and 25th Street (500 25th Street).
- Accessibility & Safety: Walking tour routes cover hilly, grassy, and uneven terrain which may be difficult to navigate. This tour is not ADA compliant and is not recommended for children under the age of 10. There is no place to sit down during the tour. We strongly encourage attendees to wear suitable footwear.
- A Little More About Safety: Unless there is a medical emergency, it is not possible to leave during the tour. Please consider these limitations before purchasing tickets.
- Refunds: All ticket sales are final. Refunds are only permissible if the tour is canceled by Green-Wood. Tickets cannot be exchanged for a different tour date.
- Inclement Weather Policy: We monitor weather conditions throughout the day for the best chance of proceeding with the tour, and will not make a final decision until approximately 3 hours before the start of the tour. Cancellations will be announced via Eventbrite email blasts, so check your email and spam folders.
- Your membership must be active at the time of the event. Each member is allowed a number of member tickets in line with their membership benefits. Purchases that do not follow these guidelines may be canceled and refunded. Please click here to view ticket allowances for members only events.
