Battle of Brooklyn Day

The Battle of Brooklyn, fought in 1776 on land that is now a part of Green-Wood, was the first battle of the American Revolution to occur after the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Join us for a family-friendly afternoon to honor those who fought in the battle and learn more about the diverse world of revolutionary New York! Meet costumed interpreters, see fascinating demonstrations, listen to colonial music and participate in fun, hands-on activities. You won’t want to miss this exploration of America’s past! All ages are welcome.

This program is part of Battle Week organized by our friends at Old Stone House. Battle of Brooklyn Day is presented in partnership with the New-York Historical Society, the Wyckoff House Museum, and the Center for Brooklyn History.

Free, suggested donation of $5 per person registered. Donations help support Green-Wood’s free and low-cost programs throughout the year.
