The Green-Wood Historic Fund is looking for volunteers!
As a volunteer, you will make rich connections with Green-Wood’s history and become a part of the unique and exciting work happening here. You will gain extensive knowledge on the historical and artistic significance of Green-Wood and have opportunities to interact with our many visitors and enthusiasts.
Volunteer tasks include assisting on tours and events, staffing our welcome cart, selling merchandise and conducting historical research. Some volunteer assignments, like our Civil War Project, are ongoing. Others are for specific events and operate on a date-by-date basis. Time commitments vary and are flexible. In all cases, volunteering will offer you a chance to make a personal connection with Green-Wood and become an ambassador for this nationally landmarked site.
Join our dedicated team at Green-Wood! Please email your resume and/or letter of interest to Chelsea Dowell at email@example.com and put “Volunteer opportunities” in the subject line.
Upcoming Volunteer Opportunity
2:30 p.m. Green-Wood’s Annual Memorial Day Concert
This year Green-Wood celebrates 15 years of bringing Memorial Day music to visitors from all over the area. The concert features the ISO Symphonic Band, founded in 1995 to sponsor talented students throughout New York City and led by ISO’s inimitable founder and conductor Brian P. Worsdale. Each year we feature the works of Green-Wood’s permanent residents Fred Ebb, Louis Moreau Gottschalk, Leonard Bernstein, and many others. Green-Wood merchandise, food and refreshments will be on sale all day. Directly after the concert, enjoy a special trolley tour with Green-Wood Historian Jeff Richman.
Volunteers are needed to greet guests and sell Green-Wood merchandise in our Historic Fund tent. Volunteers are also needed to check in guests for the trolley tour beginning at 5:00 PM. If you are interested in volunteering for this event, email Chelsea Dowell at firstname.lastname@example.org and put “Memorial Day” in the subject line.
