Leonard Bernstein (the maestro!), Fred Ebb, Louis Moreau Gottschalk … you know their beloved compositions and musical works! #DidYouKnow all have something in common: they are permanent residents of Green-Wood. Hear their works performed *live* at our annual Memorial Day concert (free to all, although donations are encouraged) on May 27th (details via link in bio)! We’re thrilled to welcome back the talented high-school musicians of the ISO at Third Street Symphonic Band, led by music director Paul Corn and hosted by guest conductor Brian P. NAMING THE LOST—a community public art memorial

NAMING THE LOST—a community public art memorial to victims of the COVID-19 pandemic—returns to Green-Wood. Come to our Main Entrance at 25th Street and Fifth Avenueand linger on the sidewalk to view contributions from twenty-two community partners adorning the Cemetery’s fence. This year’s installation, A BIG, SLOW, MAJESTIC COVID MEMORIAL, Is presented in partnership between NAMING THE LOST Memorials, City Lore, Great Small Works, Mano a Mano, and The Green-Wood Cemetery, with grant funding from the Mellon Foundation. On view NOW through June 3rd.And join us on Sunday, May 19th, from 4pm to 5pm for a dedication and ACTIVATION CEREMONY of the memorial in front of Green-Wood’s Historic Chapel. The ceremony will bring together the artistic and curatorial team and community partners for an evening that will include a procession, second line, traditional singers, and a participatory ritual of remembrance.
