Natural Endings: Green Burial at Green-Wood and Beyond

Around the world, people are answering the call to make our final farewell better for the planet. But with so many new methods, what are the best and “greenest” options? Death Educator and Funeral Director Amy Cunningham is here to answer all of your questions! In this afternoon long walk and tour, Amy will address the growing importance of eco-conscious funeral practices, exploring sustainable alternatives to traditional burial methods and the emergence of environmentally friendly funeral rituals.

She will then guide the group in a burial shroud workshop for a hands-on experience. Later, the group will walk to Cedar Dell, Green-Wood’s designated area for natural burial lots and learn about what natural burial looks like right here in Brooklyn!
