Wednesday, July 15, 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Event Navigation

green-wood stained glass

The interior of Green-Wood’s Historic Chapel—dating back to 1913—is lit with the many colors of forty-one century-old stained glass windows. Julie Sloan, one of the leading stained glass restoration consultants in America with thirty-five years of experience in her field, has been leading the restoration of these windows since 2017. That work, though delayed by New York’s lockdown, is soon to be completed. Join Julie, who is writing a book on the history of stained glass in the United States, for an insider’s account of the discoveries that have been made and the many skilled workers who have made this remarkable project possible. This conversation will be moderated by Jeff Richman, Green-Wood’s historian.

This conversation is part of our new series of virtual programs about the history of Green-Wood and its permanent residents, Zooming in on History. On the day of the program, participants will receive a Zoom link and access code.
