“Weep not that the world changes—did it keep a stable changeless state, it were cause indeed to weep. ” ― William Cullen Bryant
Sadly, in the current climate, our thoughts are more fixated on death than ever, and anxieties are running high. It is highly possible that someone we know may die or lose a loved one during this trying time. The Green-Wood Cemetery will continue to hold group conversations as a way for all of us to share our thoughts and feelings on death using Zoom. Our popular “Death Café” series is an opportunity for safe and open exchanges, without an agenda.
Until we can all meet in Green-Wood’s beautiful chapel again—join our hosts Amy Cunningham, a funeral director and death educator, and Bethany Tabor, our newest moderator. We hope these gatherings will provide comfort in uncertain times. You’ll see, as we do, that it’s amazing how the subject of death can bring strangers together.
How to participate:
On the day of the Death Café, participants will receive an email with the Zoom link and access code. IN ADVANCE: download and install Zoom on your desktop or mobile device and arrive 10 minutes before the program starts to confirm that your camera and microphone are working.
Free, RSVP recommended. Please register using the Eventbrite box below.
