As the Summer Series comes to a close, we celebrate with short films that remind us: when one door closes, another door opens...and aliens are probably going to use that open door to invade the planet and take control of our dogs’ brains. From stories of hazy nights to friendships lost and found, our closing night program looks back on old loves, bittersweet endings and builds to a thunderclap crescendo featuring a pair of storm chasers running down one last thrill. The end is nigh. It might not be apocalyptic, but it will probably be wild and kinda weird. So enjoy it while it lasts.

The Battle of Brooklyn, fought in 1776 on land that is now a part of Green-Wood, was the first battle of the American Revolution to occur after the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Before our gates open to the general public, birding expert Rob Jett leads these peaceful Sunday morning walking tours to discover the birds that make Green-Wood their home – at least temporarily. By September, offspring of these nesting birds will be on their own. Returning warblers will be in their less flamboyant fall plumage. Large numbers of blackbirds, flycatchers, sparrows, vireos, and swallows will also be passing through. By October, waterfowl are returning, and we’ll look for raptors heading south. November will bring back our overwintering feathered denizens from the north.
