DESCRIPTION:Part of the Angel’s Share series\, presented with Death of Classical\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease note\, in case of inclement weather the rain date is May 24\, 2025. \n\n\n\nContinuing our tradition of alliterative season opening events—from Burgers\, Bourbon\, & Beethoven to Hot Dogs\, Hooch\, & Handel—this year’s Cocktails\, Comestibles\, & Callas centers around one of opera’s most legendary divas: Maria Callas. Recently portrayed by Angelina Jolie in the Netflix film Maria\, we bypass the Hollywood glitz and glam and go straight to the heart of what made La Divina the very definition of “prima donna assoluta”—the power\, emotion\, and wrenching beauty of the human voice. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPrice: $60\, $48 for members \n\n\n\n\nGet Tickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn-Person Event(see details below)\n\n\n\n\n\nThis three-part event begins with a sunset serenade by swing jazz band\, The Grand Street Stompers\, as audience members wander the Cemetery and sample cocktails courtesy of the amazing folks at Via Carota\, complimentary snacks\, and for-purchase offerings by various local food vendors. Then\, as twilight settles in\, we’ll engage in a Callas lookalike contest hosted by drag artist Creatine Price\, where audience members vote on their favorites. And finally\, we’ll close the night with a performance of Callas’s most beloved arias\, sung by artists from The Metropolitan Opera Lindemann Program and Laffont Competition. \n\n\n\nCome join us as we honor one of the greatest artists in Operatic history with a one-of-a-kind\, one-night-only celebration worthy of La Callas herself. \n\n\n\nPlease note that if only 1 ticket shows as available during the purchase process\, that is the last ticket available. \n\n\n\nBefore Purchasing Tickets\, Please Note:\n\n\n\n\nTasting is for attendees 21 years of age or older with proof of ID.\n\n\n\nDrinks and Food: Tasting of cocktails by Via Carota\, water\, and some light snacks are free. There will be food from a variety of vendors for sale. Picnics and outside food are not permitted.\n\n\n\nTickets: There is no need to print tickets! Attendees will be checked in by name.\n\n\n\nWhere To Go: Check-in begins at 6:30pm and ONLY takes place at the Main Entrance on Fifth Avenue and 25th Street (500 25th Street). No early admittance. No admittance after 8:30pm.\n\n\n\nParking: There is no on-site parking available.\n\n\n\nAccessibility &  Safety: This event takes place over hilly\, grassy\, and uneven terrain. This event is not accessible for those using wheelchairs or other mobility aids and may be difficult for those with balance or other mobility issues. We strongly encourage attendees to wear suitable footwear. \n\n\n\nRefunds: Ticket sales are final. No exchanges or refunds. In case of inclement weather\, tickets will ONLY be honored on the rain date\, Saturday\, May 24th. If you cannot make the rain date\, you may transfer the tickets to a friend. If you choose not to make use of the tickets on the rain date\, no refund will be provided.\n\n\n\nInclement Weather Policy: We monitor weather conditions throughout the day for the best chance of proceeding with the program\, and will not make a final decision until approximately 3 hours before the start of the event. Cancellations will be announced via Eventbrite email blasts\, so check your email and spam folders.
