SUMMARY:Notes of Tribute: Viewing the 9/11 Memorial Lights
DESCRIPTION:This year marks the 25th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks. \n\n\n\nGreen-Wood is the final resting place of more than 100 people who lost their lives on September 11\, 2001\, or from related illnesses in the years that followed. \n\n\n\nWe invite you to join us for an evening of reflection\, guided by music and light. Together\, we will remember those interred at Green-Wood\, honor all 2\,977 people killed that day\, and reflect on the lasting impact of September 11th on our community. \n\n\n\nWe will gather on one of Green-Wood’s hills overlooking the city skyline\, where we will witness the tribute lights rising above Lower Manhattan. \n\n\n\nThe program will include words of remembrance\, live music\, and time for quiet contemplation. Beginning at sunset\, music will anchor and guide us through the evening. \n\n\n\nAll are welcome. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPrice: Free\, registration recommended.  \n\n\n\n\nGet Tickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn-Person Event(see details below)\n\n\n\n\n\nFree\, registration recommended. Please consider a $10 donation to the Green-Wood Historic Fund so that we can continue to offer more community-minded programs like this throughout the year. \n\n\n\nBEFORE REGISTERING\, PLEASE NOTE:\n\n\n\n\nWhere to go: The event takes place at the Gothic Arch\, located near the Main Entrance at Fifth Avenue and 25th Street (500 25th Street). \n\n\n\nNo paper or e-tickets will be necessary. Attendees will not be checked in; registration is to gauge attendance. \n\n\n\nA Little More About Safety: Follow ALL instructions and guidance from Cemetery staff and ambassadors.\n\n\n\nFeeling Sick? Stay home if you are feeling sick or running a fever.\n\n\n\nInclement Weather Policy: We monitor the weather throughout the day for the best chance of proceeding with the event and will not make a final decision until at least 3 hours before the start time. Cancellations will be announced via Eventbrite email blasts\, so check your email and spam folders.\n\n\n\nChecking in: Please note that registration for this event is recommended but not required. Names will not be checked.
