DESCRIPTION:Credit: Evan Rabeck\n\n\n\n\n\nBefore our gates open to the public\, this early morning walking tour provides special access to discover the many birds that call Green-Wood home\, at least temporarily.  \n\n\n\nThroughout the season\, you’ll witness an ever-changing display of wildlife. April brings pine warblers\, woodpeckers\, and thousands of migrating songbirds among the blooming magnolias and dogwoods\, while herons gather at the glacial ponds. May and early June offer peak birding with over 163 species passing through\, including ruby-throated hummingbirds and wood warblers. Summer sees young red-tailed hawks taking flight\, along with abundant butterflies and dragonflies. This tour is not accessible for those using wheelchairs or other mobility aids and may be difficult for those with balance or other mobility issues. There is no place to sit down during the tour. We strongly encourage attendees to wear suitable footwear. \n\n\n\nA Little More About Safety: Unless there is a medical emergency\, it may be difficult to exit quickly during the tour. Please consider these limitations before purchasing tickets. \n\n\n\nRefunds: All ticket sales are final. Refunds are only permissible if the tour is canceled by Green-Wood. With thousands of chapters in over 90 countries\, Death Cafes are informal gatherings designed to “increase awareness of death to help people make the most of their lives.” There’s no set agenda\, but conversations might explore topics like burial vs. cremation\, green burials\, planning funerals and celebrations of life\, or personal experiences with grief.  \n\n\n\nJoin us at the Cemetery’s Modern Chapel to share your thoughts\, hopes\, and questions in a safe\, welcoming space—over tea and pastries.  \n\n\n\nFree.
