SUMMARY:Women's Tree Climbing Workshop®
DESCRIPTION:Since 2009\, the Women’s Tree Climbing Workshop® has created tree-climbing experiences for professionals\, tree lovers\, nature enthusiasts\, artists\, and authors alike.  This workshop will provide a rare and exciting opportunity to spend three days safely exploring and climbing in the magnificent historic trees of The Green-Wood Cemetery\, a National Historic Landmark and level III accredited arboretum\, one of New York City’s wooded gems.  \n\n\n\nThis welcoming and empowering weekend will renew your spirit as you discover the magic of trees. You will bond with other tree people and leave with new social and sylvan communities.  \n\n\n\nThis workshop includes food\, instruction\, use of gear\, networking\, and 19.75 ISA (professional arborist) CEUs. If you wish to coordinate rides with other participants\, a WTCW team member will be sending out an email to assist with coordination with others. Lodging:  Unique to this event\, participants will stay at the Comfort Inn Prospect Park\, Brooklyn. We have a negotiated block of rooms for our event. You will need to register directly with the hotel\, and a link will be provided for you post-registration. Food: Meals are included in your registration costs. April brings pine warblers\, woodpeckers\, and thousands of migrating songbirds among the blooming magnolias and dogwoods\, while herons gather at the glacial ponds. May and early June offer peak birding with over 163 species passing through\, including ruby-throated hummingbirds and wood warblers. Summer sees young red-tailed hawks taking flight\, along with abundant butterflies and dragonflies. The early bird-er might get the worm\, but you can birdwatch at any hour. Join birding expert Rob Jett and a small group of fellow members to roam the grounds while hearing and seeing the many feathered friends of Green-Wood.   \n\n\n\nYou can expect to see different species on each tour.
