SUMMARY:Women's Tree Climbing Workshop®
DESCRIPTION:Since 2009\, the Women’s Tree Climbing Workshop® has created tree-climbing experiences for professionals\, tree lovers\, nature enthusiasts\, artists\, and authors alike.  This workshop will provide a rare and exciting opportunity to spend three days safely exploring and climbing in the magnificent historic trees of The Green-Wood Cemetery\, a National Historic Landmark and level III accredited arboretum\, one of New York City’s wooded gems.  \n\n\n\nThis welcoming and empowering weekend will renew your spirit as you discover the magic of trees. You will bond with other tree people and leave with new social and sylvan communities.  \n\n\n\nThis workshop includes food\, instruction\, use of gear\, networking\, and 19.75 ISA (professional arborist) CEUs. To learn more or to apply\, click here. \n\n\n\nAdditional Information\n\n\n\nDates:  May 15\, 2026–May 17\, 2026Location:  The Green-Wood Cemetery (500 25th Street\, Brooklyn\, NY 11232).Travel: Green-Wood is a very accessible oasis\, easily reached by car\, train\, or airport. Please research car share programs (Taxi\, Uber\, Lyft\, etc.). If you wish to coordinate rides with other participants\, a WTCW team member will be sending out an email to assist with coordination with others. Lodging:  Unique to this event\, participants will stay at the Comfort Inn Prospect Park\, Brooklyn. We have a negotiated block of rooms for our event. You will need to register directly with the hotel\, and a link will be provided for you post-registration. Food: Meals are included in your registration costs. Friday: dinner\, Saturday: breakfast\, lunch\, and dinner\, Sunday: breakfast and lunch. If you have food allergies\, the food gurus will do their best to fulfill your requests. If you require special snacks\, please bring them. Tree Climbing Gear: All gear is provided.  If you have your own tree-climbing gear and wish to use it at the event\, please bring it with your gear inspection documentation. Your gear shall be inspected and signed off by a WTCW team member before using.Yoga: Your yoga mat and blocks want to join in on the fun! Settle in for an hour of captivating read-alouds followed by a creative hands-on activity. Presented in partnership with Brooklyn Public Library\, these sessions are led by Kidsmobile Librarian Michaela Donahue\, who brings wonderful book selections perfect for young readers. Once a month\, the Library’s Bookmobile will be parked right outside\, giving you the chance to check out additional titles related to the day’s theme. It’s a perfect way to discover new favorites\, spark imagination\, and enjoy quality time together. Don’t have a library card yet? Attendees will be checked in by name. \n\n\n\nWhere To Go: Check-in takes place at the Gothic Arch near the Main Entrance at Fifth Avenue and 25th Street (500 25th Street). \n\n\n\nAccessibility & Safety: Walking tour routes cover hilly\, grassy\, and uneven terrain. This tour is not accessible for those using wheelchairs or other mobility aids and may be difficult for those with balance or other mobility issues. There is no place to sit down during the tour.
